O’Neill: The Mission
- Commissioned by Juretic* Media
- Completed May 2006
- Type: Bespoke CMS
- Roll: UX/UI Design, HTML/CSS, Technical Support
The sites allowed event organisers to publish competition information before, during and after the event. Providing competitors with the information leading up to an event, updating and publishing results during events, giving the daily conditions and weather forecasts plus much much more.
O’Neill were one of the first event organisers to provide users with the ability to vote on their favourite surfers of the day with videos uploaded from a boat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Although we take this type of capability for granted today, back in 2006, this was ground breaking stuff.
My role was to help advise on the technicalities and UX of producing the sites, taking designs from a third party and building them into a bespoke CMS. Also provided technical backup during events and assistance polishing the published content.
